Safety on our Galapagos Cruises

Whitewater rafting in Ecuador

Safety is paramount when travelling at sea, so you will no doubt be pleased to learn that all yachts sailing in the Galapagos are subject to yearly tests and servicing before they can renew their licence to sail in the National Park. As well as making sure that the yachts are completely seaworthy, the tests also make sure that the yachts comply with the environmental safeguards that have been put in place to protect the unique ecosystem of the Galapagos.

Of course, good maintenance is only half the story, and all the yachts we use carry a full complement of lifeboats, usually as well as the motorboats used for transporting passengers from the main yacht to the islands. Yachts also carry GPS equipment, Satellite radios, EPIRB emergency beacons and the latest in radar and navigation aids.

Galapagos crew

The yachts are crewed by regular captains and crews who have been sailing in the Galapagos for years - no-one knows the geography and currents like them and in many cases they have been born and raised in the islands. All in all, you can be assured of not only an amazing, but a safe and secure Galapagos cruise.

We have detailed information on each of the yachts we use for our Galapagos cruises if you'd like to learn more. Or, for for general information, have a look at our guide to the Galapagos Islands.

The flights we use for travel between the Galapagos Islands and the mainland are with scheduled airlines which specialise in this route and operate modern, well-maintained aircraft for the purpose.
